The whole place is perched above Fistral Beach, 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Newquay and a short stroll from the sands.

The rooms all ooze coastal chic, and they come with comfy Hypnos beds, GAIA toiletries and free spa entry as standard. But you can also upgrade to even fancier rooms with a sea view, a private balcony or suites that come with your very own private hot tub – depending how extra you’re feeling.

Facilities-wise, the restaurant and bar both make the most of the oceanfront setting with huge floor-to-ceiling windows. Dune’s been awarded two AA Rosettes for its locally inspired menu. You can tuck into Cornish fish soup, pan-fried stone bass and ray wing. Meanwhile, the Bay Bar serves coffee and brunch, as well as afternoon tea and cocktails.

There are fun events to join in with, like bottomless brunches with live saxophonists and cocktail masterclasses. Or, you can wind things down in the gorgeous spa, with its indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.
