You’ll never get bored at the Celtic Manor Resort. This five-star hotel, on the outskirts of Newport in Wales, has enough restaurants and bars for every day of the week, a trio of golf courses, and endless activities.
Its three golf courses hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup. Budding golfers can hone their swings at the golf academy or driving range. But the activities don’t stop there. Because this place serves up everything from axe throwing and adventure golf to archery and a high ropes course. Plus, it’s all set in 2,000 acres of Welsh countryside, so walks are a must.
Relaxing is easy, too. The hotel’s Forum Spa has been voted Spa of the Year at the Welsh Hair & Beauty Awards. And there are bars and restaurants for days. There’s an eatery specialising in Welsh food, a grill, an award-winning steak joint and an Asian-inspired restaurant. What’s more, the bars list includes a cellar bar for watching sports, a Johnnie Walker bar in the golfing clubhouse and a handful of other watering holes.
